Post Graduate Therapist Consultation and Supervision Group

This bi-monthly group is for recent graduates from MA, MSW, PhD, and PsyD programs beginning their clinical careers that are looking for an engaging, supportive, and practical consultation, supervision, and professional development experience. The group helps clinicians define their interests, enhance their skills and develop their own unique approach to the work they do.

What to Expect:

  • We focus on core clinical skills and awareness, the therapeutic relationship and the use of self, tracking themes and progress over time, and overcoming challenges.
  • You will identify and build on professional and personal strengths, and your motivations and goals for short and longer-term development.
  • We will discuss effective ways of finding and evaluating resources and collaborating with other professionals.
  • Together, we explore self-care and personal development as it intersects with creating a successful professional identity and career.
  • Incorporated in the group are theories, methods, and research from multiple disciplines, case presentations and discussions, shared readings and online videos, role plays, and other activities.

The ongoing group meets on Mondays from 2 pm to 3:50 pm

The fee is $75 per group and a three-month commitment is requested. Through Telehealth.

Beyond Affirmative Care:

Effective Psychotherapy with LGBTQIA+ Clients

Beyond affirmative care is a monthly consultation group for clinicians wishing to develop the knowledge, attitudes, skills, and comfort level needed to work effectively with lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender clients.

Clinicians will learn to approach working with LGBTQIA+ clients through multidimensional models of sexual orientation and gender.

We will address:

  • Stigmatization
  • Intersections of multiple identities
  • Career-related experiences
  • Nontraditional relationship forms
  • Issues relating to spirituality
  • Health disparities impacting communities

Group members will be invited to evaluate their own attitudes and biases that inevitably impact the therapeutic relationship. This group aims to create a non-judgmental space in which to provide relevant resources and share dialogue.

The cost is $60 per group and a three-month commitment is requested. Winter 2023. Through Telehealth.

Incorporated in the group are theories, methods, and research from multiple disciplines, experiential knowledge, case discussions, shared readings and on-line videos, and other interactive approaches.

Ongoing Group Wednesdays at noon once per month.

Treating Eating Disorders:

Case Consultation Group

Treating eating disorders is often one of the most challenging and, at times, frustrating endeavor. There remains very little consensus in the research literature about what’s effective. We can benefit from case consultation in enhancing our understanding as we explore approaches to the behavioral and psychological issues that emerge during the course of treatment. We will supplement our learning process with shared readings and case discussions.

Group forming for Spring 2023. TBD
The fee is $75 per group and a three-month commitment is requested. Through Telehealth.
