Meet Naomi Wachs, LCSW
Naomi works with individuals, couples, families, and groups from adolescence through adulthood. She supports clients with depression, anxiety, trauma recovery, relationship issues, and life transitions. With young adults, she explores challenges related to college, academics, gender identity, sexuality, relationships, family conflict, and career. Her therapeutic orientation is primarily relational psychodynamic, incorporating elements from CBT, mindfulness, and solution-oriented approaches.
As a German Chancellor Fellow, Naomi focused on arts-based therapy for healing trauma and addressing gender-based violence. Naomi brings her experience of living abroad to her work in supporting people adapting to new environments and cultural differences particularly with international students and people with multicultural identities.
Naomi provided therapy and received training at Live Oak in LGBTQIA+ affirmative, trauma-informed, multicultural, multisystemic practice and expressive arts therapy. At the Morton High School-based health clinic, she led support groups and provided individual counseling. Naomi created and led expressive arts programs and supportive services at Y.O.U., a youth development program in Evanston.
Naomi has a Master’s degree with a clinical concentration from the University of Chicago’s School of Social Service Administration and Bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University.
