Meet Lisa Howard, LSW
Lisa enjoys working with adolescents, college and graduate students, as well as adults in diverse life stages with anxiety, mood disorders, eating disorders and body image concerns. She supports her clients in addressing life-challenges including identity development, transitions, uncertainties and self-doubts, and issues in work or school such as perfectionism, organization, and decision making. She has an interest in working with clients around issues of gender and sexuality, including parents of LGBTQ+ individuals.
Lisa works with individuals and groups. Engaging and collaborative, Lisa is guided by a client centered orientation utilizing principles and skill building approaches from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), mindfulness, and a strengths-based focus.
Lisa provided therapy and received training at Renfrew Center for Eating Disorders. Lisa has worked developing and leading relational, identity development, and social-emotional focused groups and programming in a variety of educational settings with young people and adults. She enjoys working with student, parent, and school organizations supporting educational needs and goals, leadership development, and community engagement.
Lisa earned her Master’s degree with a clinical concentration in social work from the University of Chicago Crown School of Social Work, her Master’s degree in education from American Jewish University, and her Bachelor’s degree in education from Northwestern University.
Lisa is a Therapist and Practice Development Associate with Connections Health.
