Meet Kayla Brahm, LCSW

Kayla is experienced in working with adolescents, college and graduate students, and young adults providing individual therapy. Her overall areas of focus include anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, and life transitions. Kayla has special interests in chronic illness management, grief and loss, cultural adjustments, and working with clients with diverse identities and concerns. In addition, she supports clients with professional and academic challenges including perfectionism, skill and resource building, and self exploration.

Warm and positive, Kayla integrates relational, cognitive and behavioral approaches, psychoeducation, stress management, mindfulness, and health promoting activities and routines. Her work is client centered and strengths-based, and guided by collaborative values. Kayla has expertise in developing custom treatment plans and educational programs for individuals, families, and groups, providing care coordination, and working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.

Kayla has experience in outpatient and inpatient medical settings providing behavior therapy, counseling services, crisis intervention, and case management. She also works with student organizations supporting leadership development and community outreach efforts.

Kayla earned her Bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies from Indiana University and her Master’s degree in Social Work from Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis.
